RBL improvement RBLs can be configured in menu Anti Spam > Black - White - Grey - RBL - TLD - Hardblock Lists.
Reputation Block Lists, also referred to as "DNSBLs" or "DNS Blocklists", are external databases queried by the Protector during the Anti Spam analysis. To perform a RBL check, the Anti Spam filter extracts the IP addresses from a message's Received headers, discards those that are known to be reserved or trusted, then queries RBLs for each address. If any of the addresses are listed in the blacklist, the test matches and the message is assigned a score that depends on the RBL itself. If the overall score assigned to the message by the Anti Spam filter is higher than the threshold level, the message is blocked as spam.
You can perform a quick configuration by selecting a sensitivity level. Each level activates a different number of RBLs and assigns them a different score.
Low will enable the 6 best RBLs, each one with its default score.
Medium will enable the 11 best RBLs and will add the value 3 to their default score
High will enable all the Protector’s RBLs and will add the value 5 to their score.
Extreme will enable all the Protector’s RBLs and will add the value 20 to their score. This will cause a mail be blocked as spam if found in any RBL.
After setting a sensitivity level, you can go to the Advanced Settings, where you can alter the score of each RBL individually. The score can be changed depending on the reputation of the RBL itself and your experience with it (false positives etc.). Positive scores are assigned to IP addresses with a bad reputation, negative scores are assigned to trusted IP addresses. The score 0 will eliminate the use of a RBL.In the Advanced Settings page you will find official RBLs, marked with , and custom RBLs, marked with . In official RBLs, it is only possible to modify the default score, which in any case remains visible on the list and can be restored.
If you click on Reset Defaults, all the available RBLs will be activated, each one with its default score. This will override the Sensitivity Level setting.
