Anti Spam Scores
The Protector allows to activate a number of Anti Spam parameters, each of which contributes with its own score to the global Anti Spam score. With Firmware 48 it’s possible to fine tune the score of such parameters, instead of just adding/subtracting the default score when the option is active. These scores can be found in the Anti Spam Setup page.
Here it’s possible to alter the default score of the following rules:
BOUNCE_MESSAGE and ANY_BOUNCE_MESSAGE, that fire when the NDR Protection is active;
RDNS_NONE, associated to the reverse DNS lookup check.
These rules have a default score of 10, which in some cases may be too restrictive, and here they can be changed.
RP_MATCHES_RCVD, which is set to -0.001 when the Envelope Sender override option is enabled. As this is an overriding rule, it must nullify the default score; in this case any change to the predefined score should be zero or a negative value.
SPF_PASS, SPF_FAIL and SPF_HELO_FAIL, that fire when the SPF Record options are enabled. The rule SPF_PASS fires when a message contains a valid SPF record, therefore the mail is likely to be not spam. Consequently the score should be negative. Conversely, SPF_FAIL and SPF_HELO_FAIL should have positive values.
A positive score will increase the chance that a mail message is considered spam, a negative score will increase the chance that a mail message is considered clean.
