We have now done a failover to protector2 (client) for smtp traffic, so new incoming mail works again.
Meanwhile the protector2 “Client ” unit is now the active unit. (HA is switched off)
The incoming mail queue on the (previous main ) protector is processed after a reboot.
I can now reverse the situation and make the protector2 the main and the protector the client .
How can I copy the mail from the old main to the new main (the mail queue processed is on the wrong unit)
Best is to do a RSYNC bidirectional sync to have all mail on the new main unit (missing after breaking the HA)
- Where can I find the mail to copy (do you have the path)
- Do you already use bidirectional rsync for the mail (I know not the database)
The copy is always done from the main to the client.
To copy messages from the old main to the new main, it's necessary to
launch a sync when the old main is playing the role of main, and
immediately after switch the roles.
Rsync is not bidirectional, because the 2 units are not to be used as
active-active.
Messages are located in /var/spool/MailScanner/quarantine
